I work at the meeting point of foresight research and design craft: scanning for signals, making sense of messy inputs, and building the artifacts that let other people see what the research found.

Below is a selection of that work — participatory tools and installations, foresight studies and scenario dossiers, strategy reports, and more. Each entry notes what I led and what was made with a team.

A tool for examining positionality cannot itself be positionless. The Power Flower maps how identity, power, and context shape what we notice and what we miss — and it is built to be broken, adapted, and rewritten by whoever picks it up. Four iterations so far, from a twelve-person workshop in Lancaster to an unfacilitated installation built for a conference of 250.

Four plausible futures for the Canadian fresh tomato supply chain, built from horizon scans, Causal Layered Analysis, and backcasting, then staged as a live gallery walk where half the participants played donors and half played protesters. The tomatoes were props. The discomfort was the argument.

Conferences are built to fill your mind. Invitations to Better Worlds asks you to pause. A growing series of participatory installations that gather what people leave behind — dots, letters, voice messages — and synthesize it into signals, trends, and scenarios about how communities imagine better worlds.

A founder wanted to build a bridge between artists and AI companies, at a moment when the artistic community's trust had already been broken. Over six weeks, our team of five turned that instinct into a 122-page strategic plan he could act on — and I built the design system that keeps a document that long navigable for a single reader.

Only 41% of the tomatoes we grow are ever eaten. This systems map traces where the rest goes and who absorbs the cost, using the myth of Sisyphus and painted Greek pottery to give a supply chain a shape people can hold in their heads. Presented at RSD13 and published in the proceedings.

Small and medium businesses mean it when they say they want to be sustainable. This research asks what happens between the intention and the Tuesday morning, built on twenty-three interviews with global sustainability experts and Canadian SME leaders. Published in OCAD's open research repository; findings presented at TEDxOCADU.

Foresight methods mostly live in academia and workplaces, and both require a reason to be in the room. Hopeful Speculations is a bimonthly book club that puts them somewhere else: one speculative novel, one foresight tool, every session. Read the world, take it apart, then turn the same instrument on the present.

An embodied foresight workshop held after dark in a Lisbon park, asking eleven people what darkness might be if it were neither fear nor absence. Participatory mapping, reflective storytelling, and sensemaking, all of it conducted on foot. One of seven official side projects at the Future Days Conference.

Endings usually get framed as failure. This workshop proposed something else: that they can be tended, honoured, and composted into whatever comes next. Three hours of ritual, embodied practice, and narrative work, closing with a collective composting.
